BAK, basis voor actuele kunst, Utrecht nodigt u van harte uit voor Propositions #9: Deserting from the Culture Wars. Van woensdag 13 november tot en met zondag 17 november 2019 organiseert BAK trainingen, lezingen en panelgesprekken gericht op de steeds verder gepolariseerde ideologische strijd van de culture wars. Verschillende kunstenaars, theoretici en schrijvers worden in verschillende constellaties bijeengebracht om hier actief op te reflecteren. Hoe worden deze culture wars gedefinieerd én gestreden?
Het programma omvat trainingen, lezingen, en discussies met Bini Adamczak, Kader Attia, Tom Holert, Patricia Kaersenhout, Charl Landvreugd, Sven Lütticken, Diana McCarty, Dan McQuillan, Dina Mohammed, Johannes Paul Raether, Rose Hammer (Stacey E. Propositions #9 is mede samengesteld door schrijver en curator Sven Lütticken in het kader van het programma Trainings for the Not-Yet(14 september 2019–12 januari 2020), en is het negende deel in BAK's langlopende onderzoeksreeks Propositions for Non-Fascist Living (2017–doorlopend).

How are these culture wars defined and waged?

Propositions #9 is co-convened with writer and curator Sven Lütticken as a temporary spin-off from Trainings for the Not-Yet, and is the ninth iteration of BAK's long-term research series Propositions for Non-Fascist Living(2017–ongoing), which seeks to collectively think and act out ways of being together otherwise.
